Asymmetry Music Magazine

Ducks quacking, charming old ladies talking, dogs barking, guns firing, charming young girls laughing. Feuillet after feuillet of sonic images of French countryside. At least I heard no obvious city sounds. Anyway, if my description sounds like this is a total mishmash, just remember that Duchenne is French, and that the French invented and continue to dominate the turn-the-microphone-on school of composition. What continually surprises me, as a long time Luc Ferrari aficionado, and a long time French tape music the same, is how no one ever sounds like anyone but themselves. If you’ve heard one French “presque riens” piece, you’ve truly only heard one.
